Top 50 boys names 2013-14

The top 50 boys names from 2013-14

If you were like us, you probably trawled the internet and bought various books looking for baby name ideas. If you choose not to go with mum or dad’s name then it’s a hard job because you can’t help feeling that it has a bearing on how his or her life will be. Does the world need another John (no offence to all the Johns out there). You want the name to be individual but not dumb or obscure. We could not agree on one and we both had pretty strong ideas about names. It’s not easy, you get one shot and you will NOT please everyone with your choice. I know we didn’t – but ‘Felix’ and ‘Lucas’ kind of stuck with us and now we can’t imagine them be called anything else. It’s who they are…

Primark shoppers cheer as baby girl is born in the street

Primark baby born as crowd cheers to welcome her

Like a scene from a movie or a rather, a Great British soap opera, crowds cheered and tossed money as a woman gave birth to a baby girl outside a Primark store in Birmingham.
The surprise labour took place while shopping and as luck would have it, a visiting Australian doctor who was passing quickly took charge of the situation. He delivered the infant shortly after and thankfully there were no complications.
The mother’s friend Charlene said. “It was absolutely amazing.” Shielded by blankets during the birth, the woman waved and thanked the many well-wishers as she was taken to the ambulance.
Sgt Sarah Chater, from West Midlands Police, announced the birth on New Street.
She said: “It was a lovely moment, we turned to the crowd and said it was a baby girl and a big cheer went up.”
Both mother and baby are well, police announced.
